I bought a half dozen Hexmags. They turned out to be series I. They don't like to slide into the mag well. The top round will sometimes lift up from the mag. Sometimes when seating into the rifle and sometimes just laying down on the firing bench. These rounds will jam trying to feed. I pull the mag and clear the jam...except the next round becomes the top round in the mag and will also lift up and jam. I can hold the next top round down and it will feed fine as will the rest of the mag.

The thing is, they state on their website...'When every Round Counts'

Here's where the problem comes in. Contacted Hexmag and explained the problem in their online 'Contact Us for warranty issues'. Made two inquires over the past couple a weeks. Never got a response.

Anyone else have the problem of magazines being hard to load or rounds jamming. How about problems trying to contact Hexmags?

I bought 10 series II hexmags and they fixed the problem but they don't seem to want to admit to a problem with their series I or even respond to a warranty issue.

I can't imagine buying more product from a company that has such poor customer service that they will not address the problems you are having with your first purchase. Crush the first mags, give the second ones away to someone that you don't like much, and buy some PMAGS.

I've tried numbers of mags over the years, to include many various metal and polymer mags. After much scorn, I've settled on and come to rely on Pmags. I have 10 rounders blocked to 5 for hunting, quite a few 20's, a ton of 30's and a couple of 40's. Most 20's and all 30's have Magpul Ranger plates. I like the 10's for bench shooting, 20's for the wife and kid or for going prone and 30's for 'blasting'. ;)

Are they perfect? No, but they've been about as close to it as I can find. And I'm not going to battle in the sandbox, so they work for me.

Sorry about the Hexmags, but I hope you get some resolution.

1 (855) 439-6247 CALL THEM! It is very easy to ignore e-mail or web inquiries. It's very hard to ignore someone on the phone.

I figure if Gen 3 PMAGs are good enough for the USMC to take to war they are good enough for me.

I've got 3 of the 10/30 hexmags-1 Series 1,1 Series 2, and 1 with no series markings. Use all 3 at the range and don't have any issues with them. Would be nice to have full 20 or 30 rd mags, but the state says no.

I have some gen 1 Hexmags and they have ran fine for me. The only issue I have with them or any other polymer mag is they are a very tight fit in my bolt rifle. That is more of a function of the very tight tolerance magazine well on the rifle than any fault of the magazine. Steel and aluminum magazines fit and work just fine, so that is what I'll be swapping the Hexmags out for as one of my buddies buys mags to swap with.

I had similar issues with a couple Hexmags I picked up cheap on clearance when a LGS was closing...gave them away..Gen.2 Pmags are priced right (Gen.3 don't work in my AR's because of the over insertion tab) and SS GI mags is what I stocked up on;)

Magpul's CS sucks as well, at least in my experience. Had (have) a poor machining job on my qd end plate which I contacted them about and provided a picture about a year ago and still no reply, and I have a Gen2 Windowed Pmag where the round count is off a bit and been without a reply the past 3 months. Honestly thought they'd be better then this.

I bought 6 Hex Mags and 2 of them didn't feed right so I don't use any of them anymore.

I have a handfull of hexmags, haven't had the first issue with them. I haven't put a lot of rounds through them, but I plan to this weekend. I will update if this changes

Thanks for the phone # Racer X. I hope to get to them soon.

Thanks everyone. I'll be going to Pmags from here on out.

Let us know how it works out. I think the true measure of a company is how they handle their "Oops"

don't know what price you paid for them but buying 6 you must have thought it was a good deal .. or you just needed them after buying an AR..

I just picked up 5 more Magpul AR mags at 9.99 from the farm store .. on sale at half price .. now that's a pretty good deal .. and with the 10% Vet discount it was made even better !! so there are good deals out there but all deals are not good ones !!

Frequently gunmagwarehouse.com will run a special for 6 hexmags for 49.99 shipped. That's why I got a six-pack.

apologies for bumping an old thread, but a rifle i bought came with a couple hexmags and they don’t drop free

where on these mags are their “series” marked?

I was just perusing their magazines recently. I saw those, but not having experience with them, I hesitated. While hesitating, my fingers ordered the 10 pack of Gen 2 Pmags at less than $9 per mag. He who hesitates is not always lost.
