Anyone Else Like Lever Action Rifles Here!

I always liked lever actions back to BB gun days. Before the "boating accident" I have:
Henry Golden Boy in 357
Henry Frontiersman 22LR
Marlin 39A Golden 22LR
1930's Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun

I've mentioned my Savages on here before, an 1895 octagon, a couple of .250's, three .300's, a 30/30, and about three more .303's.

But just so you don't think I'm and elitist, I have a Winchester 94 30/30, a couple of 39's, and a Marlin 1894CL in .32/20. The CL goes nicely with my two Smiths.

Well.... :D :D :D

If only 7th Cavalry had been so-equipped at Little Big Horn...

There has been trouble speculated in the world of Rossi's Brazil manufacturing operation. CEO's only last a short time, production relocates, slashes to the catalog selection and then those limited choices are unavailable. Perhap's we have seen the last of the NIB Rossi 92s.

I got a NIB Rossi .44 Magnum 16" Trapper last month. I believe my dealer has a few more. If anyone is interested, please send me a PM.

I have a Browning BLR in 308 and I wouldn't take anything else into the bush. Nice and short. I have a 4x scope for distance (100 yds) and see-thru rings for close up and personnel. Hunted with it for almost 30 years. I always get my moose - well when I get a shot at one.

Whenever this topic comes up, I remind fans of the Savage 99, in all its flavors, to obtain a copy of the book, "Shots At Whitetails," by Larry Koller. Published in the late 40s, Larry roamed New York's Catskill mountains mostly with a .250 Savage at a time when posted signs were virtually non-existent, taking his fair share of bragging size bucks. The book runs $15.00 on eBay but much more if you're looking for a first edition. His gun recommendations are very dated but its a good read.

I have acquired 3 lever rifles over the past two years. They are so much fun to shoot!

The first was a Henry Small Game Carbine 22 that came from the factory with Skinner peep sights. It’s purpose is plinking from the deck with 22 short CB’s since no ear protection is needed...the soda cans don’t stand a chance!

The next one I acquired was the Henry 30-30 All Weather that is topped with a lightweight 2x7 scope and used for my short range deer rifle. Harvested a nice 8-Point with it this year.

And last but not least is a used Rossi 92 357 Stainless that followed me home from the gun store in the last year. It pairs nicely with my 357 revolvers and shoots American Eagle 357 jsp’s like a laser with the Skinner peep sights I added.

This is a older 94 that has a place of honor in my shop along with its companion single action and "Duke" style holster.

Surprised there aren't a few more Ubertis in the crowd. I admit I don't have one right now, but I've had two over the years, an 1866 in 38spl and an 1873 in 22lr. I love the looks of the Winchester 1866/73, but they are so darn heavy that they end up left behind everywhere.
