Anyone else recently get a new gun that was actually new?

I bought a NEW Browning Buck Mark a few months ago. I like the full top rail. Shoots great! Have since added a Vector Optics Frenzy, red dot sight. Works for me. Plan to shoot Rim fire Falling Plates with it. Bob

Out of the last three "new to me" purchases I've made, the only one that was NIB from the LGS was this (but the 686+ was LNIB):

Actually, Yes! Hank (Henry H004M) got to meet Hank Jr. (H004Y).
Hank Jr got a new stock changing him into a 17" barrel carbine

I have a collection of mostly classic or future classic revolvers and metal semi-automatics.

MY EDC is a Glock 43X.

Horses for courses.

All good.

Here is my only, new to me, gun so far this year. It is not new but at the same time not used. I estimate it is of about 2010 production. Manurhin does not provide data on their production period; although they are said to manufacture 400 units of the MR73 per year.

No plastic in this steel and wood revolver.

Surprisingly, I purchased 3 brand new firearms in the last year. October 2020: Brownells BRN-10A, February 2021; M&P Shield 2.0 9mm, and Just this week (Wife purchased for me) a Dan Wesson, V-BOB in .45acp.

I don't typically purchase new firearms. Prior to this strange year, last NIB purchase was 1994 (Sig P230). Still have all of these except the M&P. Worked great, easy to carry and easy to shot. Just never really liked it.

I think I am done with any more purchases. Got too many now.

Regards,
Charlie

I've purchased two new guns recently. A Ruger LCP II in .22lr and a Ruger LCP Max. Just basic tools, not BBQ guns.

I never had bought a new gun that wasn't polymer, and I wanted a new all-metal pistol for a change. I noticed that SIG Sauer was steadily moving toward becoming 9mm-only pistol manufacturer. I like SIGs but I'm not a 9mm fan, so I bought one of their last new .40 caliber P229s. I added a .357 SIG barrel, so I got two all-metal SIGs in one.

I love my old revolvers. Love the history and love how smooth the action is. But let's face facts guys, the metallurgy and engineering of today's firearms are far superior. In the last year I've purchased three newly manufactured revolvers that quickly became some of my favorite shooters, a 6" S&W Model 48 Classic, a 4.25" Colt King Cobra and a 5" Chiappa Rhino.

They all had smooth trigger pulls right out of the box, especially the King Cobra. If you haven't fired a new snake revolver yet you owe it to yourself to do so. My 2020 King Cobra is just amazing. Definitely a keeper.

I bought a new 586-8 6 inch barrel few months ago and decided it was too heavy . Sold it couple weeks ago and bought older Model 63 , Model 14-2 and Model 67-1 on the way. A Ruger 22/45 bought new months ago is going up for sale.

Looking way back, it seems that I have only ever purchased one gun that wasn't new in box. Back in 1980 I bought a S&W Model 39-2 that I saw in a pawn shop. Had no idea what it was, but I liked the look and feel of it. My latest purchase is a Ruger PC Charger. The 9mm version.

My last purchase was a Shield Plus. Of course, the one before that (in March) was a 1948 K-22 Masterpiece … so, I tend to bounce around a bit. ;)

(Shield Plus w/ Shield 1.0 / K-22)
