Already have a 457. Good shooter, not as svelte as a a 4516, but serviceable. Back in the day I would carry it, my 3913, or 4566 simply because they all operated similarly, were reliable, and accurate. They've long since been retired for my M&P 45s (Shields (own two) or FS/Compacts (own 4)) and/or a few of the pocket 9s that I own (Kimber Micro 9s or Sig 938). They're lighter weight and will keep up with, if not match, my 3rd Gen S&Ws for reliability and accuracy. In the case an M&P is confiscated, damaged, or rendered unavailable, simply go get another one. That would hurt a whole lot more if it happened to any of my 3rd Gens or one of my high priced compact 1911s.
Personally, was never a fan of the double/single action. Would prefer one type trigger pull and not have a transition. That's not saying they aren't quality firearms and are in a whole different category as the mass produced polymers of today. Each has their place.
