Anyone ever see a blued 5" pre-27 LNIB?

So if it's a pre 27 5" or 27 5". With all accessories and box that is all original and in mint condition. All matching numbers. What would the value be???

I just have the gun and box without cleaning tools. I think mine would come in a little north of $2000.00. My opinion only. Other thoughts welcome either way.

I have a "pre 27", that is SO lacking in original finish, with untold thousands of fired rounds, no box, docs, or tools, an extreme amount of holster wear, less the original grips, and the beginnings of too much end shake.

It reminds me so much of ME, I wouldn't trade it for one straight from the factory, circa 1954; and,.... it serves greatly as a good-will item, cause one look at mine will make most all others SEEM, "NIB" !

I just searched through the completed Gunbroker auctions for pre-27's with original grips and there were not many for sale and even fewer completed auctions that ended in a sale.

IMHO, any high condition pre-27 with matching grips and box would easily go for $2,000 and would likely sell for at least $2,500.

...actually not...:( I have a lot of pre-27s, many of which are in great condition and with boxes and tools, some of which are also beautifully engraved. But, I don't think that I have seen more than 1 or 2 engraved 5" pre-27. The only one that I can recall is a 5" that was engraved for one of the Wessons (I don't think it has a box). It is a very nice gun and resides in a great collection of engraved S&Ws. I wish the owner would post a few photos here on the forum...

... And I am still looking for that perfect 5" pre 27, mint in the box for $1K...;) I'm probably going to be looking for a long time (or pay a lot more). But I do have to tell you - it is the hunt that is the fun part.

Dude - a Mint , in the Box 5" pre 27 is going to cost you over 3 grand .........unless you get a deal of a lifetime
