Yesterday morning I was driving on a suburban street in Phoenix within a block of our home, and I noticed what looked like a long pink ribbon in the road in front of me. It was moving (I thought blown by wind). As I got closer, I could see that it was a snake - probably about 4 feet long. It was the color that got me - a brilliant pink all over. I braked so as not to run over it, and it slithered off the road into a nearby ravine.

I had not had an adult beverage in well over 24 hours, and my eyesight, while not perfect, is perfectly adequate. Has anyone ever encountered a brilliant pink-all-over snake? If so, what the heck kind of snake would that be? I just googled "pink snake" and came up with a few pictures, but that was the first I've seen, and I'm definitely not new in town...

It could have been a Rosy Boa which is a relatively rare snake here:

...my best guess is that it might have been an albino...

...albino king snake pictured below...

There was an albino near me 5 or 6 years ago .. farmer saw and took pics..
lived around a wood pile next to a corn bin .. finally disappeared after a coupe of years ..

not as rare as one might imagine .. but usually get killed because they stand out and are easily seen by their predators ..

Friend had an albino boa which ended up being over 8 feet long and 6-8 inches around according to how long ago it had eaten .. he had it for over 25 years before it died .. it was in an 8 x8x8 foot glass cage with fans and air vents .. and of course a small door .. we use to go over and watch him feed it .. was amazing how fast they can be .. saw it cross the living room about 17 feet in less the 5 seconds .. you couldn't out run it !! but was very friendly ..

It ain't pink, but one day I saw a San Francisco Garter Snake at a beach in San Mateo County, just South of San Francisco. I believe it was trying to get as far away from San Francisco as it could. I didn't bother it, but it sure was the prettiest snake I ever saw. The picture is just a generic picture. Not the actual snake I saw, but that's what it looked like.

I watched a baby Southern Hog-nosed snake slither into my crawl space last week. A crew was here putting a new HVAC unit in. I didn't want to startle them by running out the house with the revolver and snake shot. They're non-venomous, but he went under my house!
