Picked up this Rossi 44 Special today in a Pawn Shop. Had no idea that Rossi had ever made a 44 Special. As much as I love 3" Revolvers, I knew I had to have it when the manager pulled it out. Needs a good cleaning. You can tell it's not the quality of a Smith, but I think it would make a good truck or woods gun. Figured I couldn't go wrong for 3 Benjamin's. Even came with 5 Hornady JHP Bullets. Don't look bad at the bottom of my 3" tree.

Don't feed it with +P but otherwise,it'll be fine. And if you reload,it opens up new horizons the little gun never dreamed of.A 200 gr at 850fps won't hurt the gun...can't say as much for the receiving end!

The Rossi M720 is a fine revolver IMHO. I have the un-fluted version and am very happy with it. I've recently sold off all my non S&W's except the M720 and the flattop Blackhawk(also in .44 Spl.) I only wish I could find nice aftermarket wood grips for the Rossi

I believe that would be an M720, correct?
Same frame as my M971, IIRC.
Take QC Pistolero's advice and stay away from +P loads.
The only one I ever handled had been "shot loose" using hot ammo.

I've had one for three years and it's become one of my favorite guns. In fact I find I carry it more than my Model 66 2 1/2".
It's smaller cylinder makes it conceal better and as far as accuracy, mine is superior to my 24-3 6 1/2".
I carry it with Hornady 165 grain Critical Defense rounds, but for most of my shooting I use the Skeeter load.m
I think the more you use it, it will grow on you and if not I'd be glad to take it off your hands, so how can you lose?
Pic if my Rossi with my 624 3".

The Rossi 720 .44 spl. preceeded the S&W 696 by several years. I bought one (unfluted) when they first came out. I kept a round count to see at what number it would die......Quit counting at 740 rds. with no effect on the gun. Still have it along with a 696. Both are great .44's just don't hot load them.
