I've had my 15-22 a while now and feel a longer handguard would improve my shooting. I did intend fitting a 13.5" Noveske one for an airsoft rifle (seen it done on here and liked what I saw) but found a 15" one a swell while searching for one to buy. I feel an extra inch and a half would be even better (don't we all)?
The longer handguard would allow me to drive out my supporting hand and mimic my shotgun hold.
Can anyone point me to a photo of a 15-22 with a 16" barrel, a muzzle brake and a 15" handguard?

No but I can point out a couple that use 13.5" carbon fiber handguards (Taccom), muzzle brakes (Allchin) 16" barrels and C-More red dots. The setup is designed for speed steel competition like Steel Challenge and Ruger Rimfire. You really want to use it like a 3-gun AR which is similar to some shotgun holds since we have to shoot that also. These 13.5" handguards are only 1.6" in diameter so they are easy to wrap your hand around and or put a couple of fingers around the end of the tube.

Mine is similar to the one belonging to Nolan there except I use an Allchin 15-22 muzzle brake, My C-More is all the way at the front of the rail and I use a Magpul fixed stock. The rest of my parts are in the post there.
The problem with all of the 15" or longer handguards is they are larger in diameter, heavier (except carbon fiber ones) and often put too much weight on the front of the rifle. Before I put the 1.6" diameter Taccom one on I was using a 12.3" AP Custom carbon fiber one on that was about 2" in diameter. I greatly prefer the smaller one. I have a 15" AP Custom railed CF one on my 3-gun AR. It used to have a 15" Samson Evo alloy one and I replaced it to reduce the weight of the rifle everywhere I could.

Look through the last ten pages of the pic thread. I remember someone recently posted one with a 15" Diamondhead rail and another guy with a Troy 15".

Hey I am new to this sight and came across your thread. I just modified my 15-22 with a 15 inch handguard and it turned out great. I will see what I can do about trying to post a picture.

Thanks for posting that Scouter72.
It looks like I'll be having the 15" handguard from Noveske (well the airsoft copy anyway)
did you make your own wrench for removing the original hand guard of did you buy the Tacticool22 one?

I used tacticool22's wrench, as well as his free float handguard converter (modified). Good luck with your build and post pictures when your done I would love to see it.
