I saw a nice 351 PD and thought it looked like a very nice J frame.I picked it up and it weighed nothing.I was wondering if anyone out there has one and if they like it and what do they use it for? Thanks in advance

yep i love mine. accurate out to 7 yards(probably more but for my purposes its really all i shoot it to)7 shots of the plus p stuff will get you out of the room in a negative situation.

Great little packing pistol for woods walks with my dog. We do have black bear here, but I'll just trip the dog if it comes to that.

Lots of people will chime in with negativity about the .22 magnum, the "L", 2 piece barrels, etc. But it's up to each person to make up his or her own mind, at least in my opinion.

Well I picked mine up today and can't wait to try it out.

And Gary's comment isn't to be taken lightly.

That is the biggest reason its not such a good woods gun. The noise on unprotected ears is just terrible. Who takes the time to pull ear plugs out of their pocket when they get a shot at a critter?

Yes, I have one. While its not for sale, its also way down on the list of things to be selected, with a .38 and wadcutters much higher.

The worst 22 I've ever had was a Davis Derringer in 22 mag. It had the unpleasant habit of vibrating after you shot it. It wasn't recoil, it just made your hand numb. Thank God my 351 doesn't do that.

For fun, and if you live where you can do it, take your gun out on a dark night and fire it. The flash is blinding. I assume thats because you have ammo developed for rifles being fired in a short barrel revolver. You can purchase 22 mag shot shells. They're about as good/bad as the .38 special shot loads. They're also noisy.

In all this, remember what was said above and say it to yourself on the way to shoot. Those may be the last words your ears hear for a few days!

I had one.......but the DA trigger pull had to remain at an attrocious level, to assure that tthe spring could drop the hammer hard and fast enough to ignite those pesky rims. Go below 12 lbs, and you get misfires, and 12 lbs in a 12 oz gun makes for less than great shooting......at least I wasn't up to the task.
And it is a flamethrower, too, with bits of unburned powder getting all over you.
My 2" 651 does all the same nasty things, but it is way to valuable to turn loose.....just a fun gun, shot mostly single action.

Do any of you guys use the lanyard rod in the back strap of your 351 PD ?

Love my 351PD. It is so light that it just disappears when carried. It is not the weapon I would rely on if ordered to a gun fight, but it is a great little weapon for hiking, walking around the property, etc.

Will never sell mine.

The longer I have my 351PD the more I like it.The only thing I don't like is the pretty grips. But the grips are off now and will be traded for the old wood grips and a Tyler T-Grip.

Do not take the warning lightly about your hearing.
