Hi Stainz! Gonna start doing my HG shopping in your neighborhood. What prices! Just bought the 637PC and I love it the way I love all J-frames: passionately. Just put 120+ rounds through it: FMJ burn-up ammo and various +Ps. It shoots MOPP (Minute of Pie Plate) at 5 yards with double-taps. This is what I require of my Js. Next time, will open it up to 7 yards, surprising how big a difference that makes over 5 yards, at least for me!
The finish features are what attracted me, but I don't care for the grip, a knock-off of the old Barami Hip-Grip. Easy to change out and I have. Action is DAO: if you shoot a 642, you'll have no problem.
One negative: The rebound slide spring ('trigger return spring') is softer than any of my other Js. Have heard this was done to lighten the trigger pull. When cleaning the gun, the action skipped on dry fire: the hammer was not going back while the cylinder rotated. This cleared up when I gently re-lubed the action after cleaning, but I may have a standard weight spring installed. The mainspring seems standard weight: all rounds fired perfectly, even the cranky Armscor burn-up ammo.
Many folks seem to dislike the markings on the gun. I ignore them, the way I ignore the "Ladysmith" etching on my Model 60 .357. Everyone needs one of these guns. Or two...
Hope this helps. Let me know please.
