With my vision it's almost impossible for me to see a ramp front sight of any kind. Has anyone here installed an XS big dot sight on their M640 or m649. How do you like it. Big change in point of impact?

There's lots of info on the web about how to sight them.I find that the sight over powers the rear groove so that i have to split the tritium in half to get hits at around7 yards.if i drop it all the way in the rear groove it's way low. Its not hard to get the hang of and you might come up with something totally different. BUT they are easy to see for sure

I have the regular dot on my 640 due to the better fit within the rear sight notch. There is much greater visibility and quicker sight acquisition day and night. I do not notice a change of impact

Reloading helps.

I have the big dot on a 649, and if I set the white ball right on the rear trench I am pretty much on with some of my loads. With others not so much.

I like the sight, I would prefer it with a real rear sight, but for quick and combat it is plenty fine.

I have the xs big dot mounted on a S&W model 60-14 2.125"..
Agree that splitting the tritium dot is good sight picture
for this at 7 yard line.. confirmed by agreement with my crimson trace grip laser sight deployed..
