Charleston and I have folks in Columbia and Spartanburg. Spartanburg is more 'upper state'. The next big stop is Asheville, NC.

Im looking for a place to shoot without going to a range. I guess im trying to avoid paying fees and having to buy ammo to use said range etc etc. I would like to put up a target and shoot.

DNR (Dept of Natural Resources) has a range in Pickens and Abbyville counties. The Belton Gun Club has several range options up to 300 YD. The SkipJay range outside of Anderson is another option. Most folks are not comfortable allowing strangers to come shoot on their land. Some may shoot back in this area of the country.

Suggest joining a gun club will give you a place to shoot and allow you to meet local folks that have the deer propertys, dove fields, etc.

Live in Simpsonville, the DNR has two ranges in Lauren's county, but I hear lately that the one at Philsons cross roads is getting dangerous, reports of guns being stolen off the tables while you are changing targets.
