carried a commander for a long time, usually with a 357 revolver as company. haven't owned one for years. now have a stainless officers that gets carried often.

Did you cut the frame on the 1911pd when you put the new MSH on? I have one just like it and have been wondering what to do about the aluminum coating.

I am not totally sold on the fish scales either.....for that matter, I am not much on front serrations....

Just a couple of file strokes, it leaves about 1/8 inch spot shiny aluminum. None of the coatings I tried worked any better than a sharpy magic marker. So I went with some flat testors model paint. Not perfect, but good enough for me.

On a side note the two frames are made of different stuff. The pd filings just fell away, the sc filings were light and fluffy, and stuck to everything. Really strange. Ed
