I know this is a longshot but anyone load for .8mm Nambu ?
I've got 200 Huntington's cases and 500 107 fmj bullet's. I'm using 4.2 grains of Unique . But my problem is all I can find for a over-all lenght is 1.240 or 1.250. But in one of my type 14 Nambu pistol's that is too long for the magazine and will not let the bolt close all the way.I did seat one round in till I got the bolt to close at 1.096 and it did fit in the magazine but still seemed a little long and was canted up a little but it did feed and fire fine.I posted this on gunboards but have not gotten any reply yet.

8mm

sureshot don't know if this will help, but i have some reloads from years gone by that are made from 38spl cases. the cases are trimmed to .88 and with 105gr. RNL overall is 1.265. they work in my 14, didn't say shot well, just worked. these being made from 38 cases, smaller dia., could the shoulders be set back to help chambering? good luck. jim

Thanks for the reply . I made up a few of the short 1.096 rounds and try'd them in my type 94 mag and in one of my other type 14's. The top round seemed to feed o/k by hand but the one's under it jammed on the feed ramp.I think I'll be making some longer one's and trying them even If they don't sit level in the mag as long as they will fully chamber.

I've reloaded the Nambu for years. The bullet I use is a 100 grain Lyman cast for the 31 cap and ball revolver, sized to .321. I've used resized 38 Super cases when factory were not available. With the 14's and 94's, I've simply started with a low charge of Unique (3.2 grains) and worked up with the individual gun until it fired reliably. Most will be suitable with 3.8 grains. Jack

"New" 1980's Midway factory 8mm (not .8mm) Nambu with a 104 grain RNL bullet has an OAL of 1.248". It works fine in my three T-14's and two T-94's. You might want to check the front-to-back distance on the mags that give you trouble compared to those that don't.

Nominal front-to back width perpendicular to the back spine and thickness dimensions for each type are:
  • T14: 1-3/16" FTB, 0.487" thick
  • T94: 1-3/16" FTB, 0.505" thick

Thanks for the info guys . I'll try to make a few up today to try. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that like's these old pieces of history.I got into WWII Japanese firearms because they still can be found cheaper than American or German gun's.
