I joined that forum a few weeks ago, and am surprised by the way they welcome folks. Perhaps someone could explain to me why that is? Thanks!

You’re easy to surprise? :D

But seriously, you’d have to be a bit more specific. How are they welcoming folks? Are you being sarcastic or are you commending them? Are you trying to criticise this forum by comparison? I’m not an active member, but I read that forum occasionally, and it’s not clear to me what kind of responses you are expecting.

I joined after I picked up a few HK pistols, and they seem to think any new member is there to “scam them” or to sell things only. I guess I’ve never seen that, or been treated that way in any other forum I’ve joined, granted, I’ve only joined about 5, so maybe I’ve just been lucky before that.

Ah, that clears it up. There are actually forums where gushing welcomes sometimes exceed what we do here customarily, but I didn’t recall the HKpro being one of those ;)

I am over there but mostly lurk, I own HK clone rifles so will never really be in the cool kids club, I did own a HK 91A3 back in the 80’s.

I’m there, but don’t post much. Not a bad place, but perhaps not as warm nor as active as this Forum. I have a few HK Pistols, and joined because there are some good resources and knowledgeable members there...One guy in particular seems to know everything and is very helpful.

For sure, but where the unwelcoming feeling came fro was the private messages.
Did you say anything about Wheel Guns being waaay better than semi autos? That’ll generate controversy over there... :)

Take the good with the bad from most forums. I like it here, but dislike the way the mods treat us like children, closing threads for sometimes next to nothing. Their rules, their playground.

Many there look down on those with HK clones etc.

A bunch of elitist jerks there. HK is by nature an expensive, some would say even "luxury" type gun brand (though aimed at military/law enforcement) and many of their guns are status symbols, and if you don't have a REAL one then you ain't squat (according to them).

Like how some gush that the P7 is the world's greatest pistol and that they are a demi-god because they own one, when in fact it is an obsolete, out of production (for a reason), quirky gun that happens to have "HK" on it and costs many thousands of dollars.

P7 parts are suppose to be on the road to impossible to find. Also, lets have a little shooting session with a P7 and any other pistol, run multiple mags back to back rapid fire. See which one you can roast a hotdog on followed by a s'mores for dessert :)

When I shoot the squeeze cockers that initial squeeze puts the wrong pressure on a nerve somewhere in my wrist/forearm...ouch. Not a good fit for me. But dang they sure do well as a heat source on a cold shooting day.

In 2014 I bought an HK45 fde Lipsy's special cerakoted and was excited since it was with the SSE here in CA. I joined HKPro and one moderator named Diesel something always had a fit when any fde wasn't called tan. I told him nobody calls it tan, blah blah and had several entries. He started deleting a lot of my entries and I said enough. I'm out of here. Jerk.

I'm with SigTalk and heard a lot of complaints about SigForum there.

I was out of here too for a few years, not because I was po'd about anything. Just got tired of the webpage acting up all the time, but came back recently and haven't had any problems since.
