Trying to get a quote or place an order for 100 moonclips for my 625. Ranch Products' phone seems to ring once then disconnects. E-mails bounce too.

Even if I had the price including shipping, I don't want to send a money order to a company that's out of business.

Sounds like they are out of service right now, alot of small shops are going out. That is a shame to, the little guy is what made this country so great and since apple made the first desk computer is has went stright down to the man with the red suit

I got some moonclips from them about 9 months ago -- also for a 625. I hope that they have not gone out of business as they are really nice folks. They sent me the moonclips together with an invoice -- and I was a total stranger to them.

I got an order about 4 months ago. Very nice folks, good product. Hope they survive.

... and I ordered direct from them within the last month or so. One of the clips was defective, so I taped it to the invoice when I sent my check in and they promptly replaced it, and then some.

I checked my invoice dated 3/6/09 for 100 45 ACP moon clips. $35.00

There are two phone numbers on the invoice:

419-966-2881 and 313-277-3118

Fax is 313-565-8536

Be patient. They are a mom and pop small operation. When you do get through to them I amsure you will be pleased with their product and service.

I had forgotten leaving a message on their answering machine - must have been mid-late March. I got a callback from a nice lady there - she gave me the prices for the 627 .357M 'clips ($50/50 or $75/100) and $35/100 for the 625 .45 ACP 'clips, which I had bought previously from them - all blued and delivery is included in the price. I placed my order - I don't remember when it arrived, but my check to them cleared my bank 4/28. I'd keep trying - try the number on their website - and leave your daytime number.

The .45 ACP moonclips seem to best fit the Starline brass loads I make. The .357M/.38 'clips are thinner (.022") than the ones that came with my 627 (.025"), no matter for the designed rounds as they headspace on the cylinder's vestigal rim (The .45ACP rounds require their constant .035" for consistent headspacing.). The thinner current .357M/.38 'clips seem less fussy, case brand wise, than the older ones - or the .45 ACP units. Note: used Fiocchi brass is nice - and a decent 'clip fit - but seems to have slightly deeper primer pockets, as the Fed primers I use yield lots of ftf's - none with Starline.

Nice folks at Ranch Products, great prices, great product - let's keep them going.

It's been a few days since I originally posted. I tied calling RP today and got right through. They took my order for 100 blued clips. Said they'd ship them with an invoice for payment - net 30.

I asked about half moon clips. It would be nice to have them at a reasonable price. I know S&W sells them but they are much pricier than Ranch's full clips. Ranch said they never made the 3's for the 625, only 2's and 6's. Oh well.

So I was very satisfied with today's contact with Ranch Products,

Ranger,

The "2" or 1/3 moon clips are superior to the half moons. You can load them up and replace the rounds in the original box. They sit in your pocket much flatter than the half moons. And, most importantly, they retain the rounds very well. The half moons are prone to losing a round in your pocket or if dropped.

I just ordered 625 full moons and Ruger Speed Six 9mm 2 shot clips from them. Told me they just got a new order of full moons in. Still the greatest people to deal with.
