I am looking for information that's written in the shipping logs. I have a 2" New Departure s.209700 that shipped 12/13/06. The shipping log then has hand written "A CLTS". The Historical Foundation said S&W used shorthand sometimes but they haven't seen it before. My question is does anyone have a letter with a gun going to the same place? Is " A CLTS" an individual or a company? I know this is a long shot but I figured this forum was my best bet.

Shipping Clerk Shorthand can lead to A BUNCH of wasted time!

My first Straight Line single shot was shipped to "G. Ward Hasner (no address available)" That "no address available" business puzzled me some, but I was pretty well certain G. Ward was a famous target shooter---or at least that's what I wanted him to be.

I had no luck whatsoever tracking him down. Then one day, when I was looking for something entirely different, I stumbled upon a Garrett, Ward & Hasner, a large firearms distributor----so large they had their own line of shotguns named after them. I was NOT amused! The Boss Lady laughed out loud!!

Ralph Tremaine

A belated addition attributable to an OLD memory: It's worse than I said---I left off the last word of their name-----"Hardware".
