Anyone try the Buffalo Bore 20a / 158 swcgc in an air weight? ?

This article just caught my eye. Clears it up nicely for me. A good read.

Ammo Evolution: .38 Special Treasury Load - RevolverGuy.Com

I'm going to go with the 20b / 20a cylinder combo
3 125s with low velocity jacket, and 2 158s. Just like my steel 649 is setup. Three barnes 125 tac xpd and 2 barnes 140 vor-tx all coopers

Got my 638 airweight polished up to a mirror shine. Ordered an apex spring kit since s&w took my wolff reduced power springs out before shipping it back. Sending the cylinder in to TK to be cut for clips while I wait for some polishing stones to polish up the internals a bit more. Should be a nice package when complete.

I really like revolvers ..... But I always feel so under powered. I live and work in inner portland oregon daily.....

Very interesting. I find I have a box of Win X38SPD rounds. I was unaware of the significance of the designation. Also have Fed 38G 158 G "High Velocity" LSWCHP and 129G Hydrashocks.

Just wanted to report back.

I finally got to the range today to test this little 638 humpback airweight 38 out with the BB ammo.

With the Crimson Trace LG 350G grip, I was able to blast through full cylinders of both the 125 and the 158s. BB 20a and 20b without issue.

Officially my new .38 carry round. Thanks fellows.

I don't want to shoot a lot of the +P BBs but it is nice to know they are available if needed. 5 shots in a life or death situation should be manageable for most.....

Regardless of the grips, I find that more than a dozen or so heavy loads out of my 638 is more than I want to do for recreational purposes.
