Just got a 10-8 in really rusty shape looks like it was left wet.. got most of the rust off with 400 grit sand paper and steel wool. Thinking about having it sand blasted or glass bead blasted then spraying on that brownells O.D green teflon coating that you bake in the oven. Any suggestions?

Bead blasting doesn't work well, not enough grip for the coating.

Garnet blasting medium is the best I have found for surface prep.

Neat thing about the spray and bake coatings is touch up is a breeze, and they are really corrosion resistant when done.

My humble suggestion is to make sure you really want a GREEN gun before you go ahead. The resale of same would be a little more difficult in some areas. Although, green is a cool color, so is brown and camo. Have fun with it!

Where are most of the pits at? If you are going to coat it I would fill the pits with a Good soilder or JB Weld then coat it. If it is a woods carry gun the green would be OK, but easy to lose. I would go with the silver or black or two tone
