My experience with Ti/scan and scan guns is limited to 340PD, 360PD, 325PD, 329PD, 625-10 and 625-11. I've never seen that. On the other hand, every one of them has been back to the factory for something or other. I'd say that's where your gun is headed, too.

I was afraid of that. So much for "Performance Center" quality. This is the first and last time I waste my money on the PC hype.
Thanks, Paul

PC guns go to the PC for warranty work. They can take 2-3 times longer than regular factory repairs. I agree with you on PC quality.

Sounds like a real hassle.
Well, it's going to be a trade-in at the gun shop where I bought it. I'll take the hit, skip the monkey dance and chalk it up to experience.
Unfortunately I bought a set of Crimson Trace and Eagle "Secret Service" grips, not to mention several boxes of 357 mag ammo. I won't forget this one. Take care, Paul

Return it to the scene of the crime..... and hope the morons that screwed it up in the first place have gotten smarter?

That doesn't give me that good warm feeling....

Yea, I'm disappointed. Anyone can, and will sometimes make a mistake, but when a customer forks over the extra cash for special attention to detail, I don't think the customer should have to send a product back, only to make it as advertised. My feeling is that the QC is only advertising hype, and nothing more.
Oh well, fool me once. I really like Smith and will continue to buy and use their products.
But the "Performance Center" can kiss my ***.

I agree, but my highest level of contempt is for the shops who KNOWINGLY sell new guns that need work. When I was looking for a new 627, I would check out the offerings and then explain to the resident dummy why the gun was not in spec. I stupidly thought they might care....

I still remember a gun that ripped it for me was a new 66 with a barrel-cylinder gap of .015". I know about the "new" QA standards, but that is too forking wide. The counter guy told me they would send it back to the distributor..... not knowing I wrote down the serial number.

Next month, what a surprise, it's still in the case. Next month, same thing. Eventually it was gone... they sold it to some poor schmuck.

Unfortunately, given today's environment, there is a wealth of first time gun buyers with little to no knowledge or experience. They are easy prey for a sales staff supplementing their salary with commission. Fortunately, the store I usually buy from has a large inventory. When I am looking to buy, I ask them to bring all they have "in the back" for me to look at, and we go from there.
I too have seen guns that should have been returned to the distributer returned to inventory. Buyer beware.

Hey Paul, call them up and they'll send you a FedEx label. I'd bet they make it right for you. I had zero problems with their service on my 625JM that had to have a hammer replacement. I also had the PC do a master action job on it while they had it. They gave me no grief what-so-ever.
