Picked up this NIB Baby Rock RIA .45 yesterday for $450. It's an all steel mini double stack 1911 with a ported 3.1" barrel and LPA sights.

Back in the '90s I had a Para P10, and though it was a neat little double stack mini-1911, I could never get it to run reliably. I'd get stove pipes about every third mag, despite trying several different types of ammo.

The reviews on the Baby Rock are almost all good, so hopefully I'll have better luck. Being all steel construction, where the P10 was steel slide and aluminum frame IIRC, I wonder how the little RIA would handle .45 Super with an appropriate recoil spring replacement.

I wish RIA would add a mini 10mm 1911 to their line!

My RIA 1911's are always dependable. Have a 9mm full size and a .40 Commander. Bob

I've only shot one RIA 1911 (a friends new purchase at the time) which was a regular sized, standard model pistol. It shot well, was accurate and appeared to be fairly well made. It did have a few hick-cups while shooting the very first box of ammo (not uncommon), but the gun was brand new out of the box. After a hundred or so rounds and a quick oiling it smoothed out fine.

Use your new acquisition well Tom!

I have a Rock Ultra full size single stack 9. It has never bobbled once and is much, much more accurate than it's owner. It's one of my very favorite guns and it cost me roughly $200 less than my other choice at the time, the Springfield Range Officer. Comparing them side by side in the store, I just couldn't see where that extra $200 was. Once I shot it, I knew I had made the right choice.
Overall: 10/10. Would go see the sequel. Definitely recommend.
