Just saw this from Apex Tactical who make the AEK Triggers M&P line will soon be introducing a new AEK Trigger kit for use with SHIELD 9s and 40s.

M&P Shield Action Enhancement Trigger Kit

Expected release: Winter 2013

The Shield Action Enhancement Trigger Kit directly replaces the factory hinged trigger with a solid aluminum trigger body. The trigger features a flat face with a center mounted pivoting safety. The Shield AETK reduces pre-travel and over-travel by approximately 20% from the factory trigger, and is perfect for use in the M&P Shield, already equipped with the Apex Shield Carry Kit. We are very proud of this latest achievement, and strive to bring our customers a safe and reliable trigger for the M&P Shield.

Expected retail price $76.95

Is anyone else looking forward to this? Especially those of you who already have the DCEAK Sear replacement kits?

I am definitely going to get this trigger. The shield is absolutely flawless with the Apex DCAEK after 1000 rounds. I have the same set up on my M&P FS40 and also smoothe as glass.

S&W M&P FS 9/357/40/45, 40PRO, 40C, 40 Shield, SD40VE, All perfected with Apex Tactical!

So I think I need some education. What will this new Apex trigger do for those of us that already have the Apex DCAEK ?

I actually like the profile of the stock trigger already as opposed to the full size... It would have to be pretty affordable (it won't be) for me to mess with it...

Installed one last night in my Shield 40. Hope to make it to the range today.

During dry firing, the take up travel seems about the same. There is absolutely no over travel and the reset is short and distinctive. I like the feel of the trigger. I am finding I prefer the one piece design vs the hinged. I now have the polymer trigger in my 40 FS with the FSS kit, my 40 c with the DCEAK kit and the aluminum trigger along with the DCAEK kit in the Shield 40. To me, I can't really feel a difference between the polymer and aluminum trigger. Both feel great and hopefully shoot great.

My first Apex poly trigger should be here in a few days, I'm planning on putting it in my DCAEK-equipped 40c. If I like it, I'll order one for my 9FS and sit tight for a poly Shield trigger.

Ordered my trigger this weekend. Probably won't make much difference because I have the kit installed already. But it does look pretty badass.
