Are these items designed to work together? Is the reset changed much from the stock with the FSS or would the RAM be needed? This would be for a very late (FEB 2015) M&P 40.
Does your frame have the plugged ambi thumb safety lever cutouts?
If so, the RAM won't work. You need the old style sear block made for the internal lock. Doesn't need to have the IL just needs to be that style sear block.
Reset will improve slightly w/ the fss kit compared to stock. As far as the ram, it will not fit the newer production m&ps like yours. S&W have made changes to the sear housing block
I didn't notice any reset change when putting the FSS kit in, but the newer slide stop in my newest pistol did make a noticeable difference from my older pistols. I'm not a "shoot to reset" shooter, but it is noticeable. S&W M&P Slide Stop Assembly at G and R Tactical
Just put the FSS kit with polymer trigger in my full size 9mm. It's MUCH better. Not my springfield TRP 1911 trigger, but 95% better than it was. Reset is much better with the kit compared to stock...it's a late 2014 production gun, and doesn't have the RAM.
I have both the older and newer version. I just put the Ram and competition spring kit in the older one. Now the reset is very similar to the new pistol. The lighter trigger is much better on the old one. I will get the same kit for the new one when I have the extra cash.
I have both in my 9L core. The reset is better with the RAM than without but not as good as my Glocks with Zev fulcrum triggers. The FSS trigger is really good and is better than the Zev trigger(IMHO) and almost as good as my SA RO with a 3lb trigger job.
