Hey everyone,
I want to lighten the trigger pull on my ladyfriend's 9mm Shield (her nightstand as well as target gun) and was thinking of trying the APEX Shield Carry Kit, but not the Apex Shield Action Enhancement Trigger. Any ideas as to whether not changing the stock trigger would make that much different in ease of pull?

I installed the carry kit in my Shield and it's a much cleaner trigger pull. I have installed Apex's triggers in my M&Ps and I like the feel of the flat faced trigger better than the factory trigger. I believe I'm going to leave the factory trigger in my Shield. Because of the smaller frame size, I just don't think it would make that much difference.

On my Shield the DCAEK improved and lightened the trigger. I installed the flat trigger later and noticed no change in weight. The flat trigger reduced the over-travel, increased the trigger reach just a hair, and feels better to me.

If I could only do one it would be the DCAEK even though both were worthwhile IMO.

I did the carry kit with the trigger. Although I didn't mind the stock trigger. I left the stock return spring as recommended by others. I'd do all the springs w/o the trigger, but I've read of people using stock striker and sear springs instead of the kits resulting in lighter pulls. I'm pretty confident she'll be pleased with the kit. I believe it's money well spent on a shield for EDC

*****UPDATE*******
I went ahead and had both installed, trigger and kit and what a difference it made. Trigger is a little lighter but much smoother. Reset is very short. Completely satisfied. Thanks to all that offered info

I wanted the trigger break a little lighter on my 9mm Shield and got everything i wanted and needed by replacing the sear only....with a Apex one of course. My trigger break is 4.5-5#'s
