Not being up to date on newer revolver prices,I would appreciate informed opinions as to the value of a 4" 25-9 in .45 Colt chambering. This gun was mfgd for one year only...1990. It's 98% with a slight indexing ring. TIA. No box or docs. :)

This is the best Smith .45 Colt with all the upgrades and proper throats. I had not seen but two and bought both. Foolishly sold one. This is a must have for S&W .45 Colt fans. Buy it and pay what you must because these are scarce as hen's teeth.

Hey Tom, last year I found a 25-9 4" as you describe, and paid
$600. That is a good price in todays economy.
If I was looking for one ,I would be willing to pay up to $850. or so
for a prime example.

I just paid 1100 and change for a 3" 625 in 45 Colt.
Am I crazy? or do I know something others don't?
Time will tell.
Try searching completed auctions on Gun broker for any Smiths in
45 Colt. They just don't come along that often.

Thanks fellas. I looked at this gun several times at a show this past Saturday. Kept going back trying to decide whether to buy it or not. Wife and I were literally walking out the door when I went back once more and bought it. Guy wanted $750,took $700,so I guess I didn't overpay by as much as I thought. And it was a private sale. I like those a lot! :)

Well, I guess that means I won't be shooting my new-in-the-box 4" 25-9 anytime soon . . . . I'd been waffling about it but I have others to shoot. I had a feeling that was one I should keep untouched.
