AR fails to feed off the magazine

If you're using the magazine that came with the gun, it was probably made by C Products. Unless things have changed, they made the mags for Bushmaster, the only difference being what was stamped on the floor plate. They're usually fine, but sometimes there's a bad one. If it is a faulty C Products mag, you can send it back and they'll give you a new one.

First, try a new mag. A new GI or a P-Mag. Use Good ammo,PMC, m193 etc. and have a little lube on the bolt. And I'm not being a ass but be sure you have the mag fully seated. If it still does not work give S&W a call. No need to start changing parts on a new AR.

I got my first AR-15 early this year. It had a similar issue. It turns out that if you have an anti-tilt magazine, that the follower drags a little every now an then with full spring strength. I loaded my brand new magazined down with 25 round over night and the problem went away. I also learned I had to break in the magazines. I had the most problems when I a brand new magazine with 30 rounds. However, after I had it loaded overnight, I started with 10 round then 20 then 30 when I went shooting. Now they work perfectly and have not had a feeding problem since (other than finding and being able to afford the ammor to feed my AR).
