How many here own an AR-15 pistol?

Beyond that, how many own an AR-15 pistol with a "carry" solution? If so, what is that solution?

I have a backpack fitted with an AR500 plate that houses a "pistol" AR-15 fitted with a 100 rd dual drum. It's an easy carry for strolls in the park when encounters with social miscreants are probable.

If that is the case, I hope you can pull it out of your back pack fast enough to take down those social miscreants. :D

Kinda what I was thinking.

I have had a few AR and AK pistols and find them to be rather impractical for daily events. Unless you live on the set of Mad Max there really is nothing good about these types of firearms. You can't shoulder it, (the buffer tube is lame), can't stabilize it enough to aim far, the types of bullets are not suitable for use in public (you are responsible for each bullet). Oh and getting to it immediately is impossible unless it's In your hand and then it's brandishing.

They are really good for movies and mall ninjas

So you are in California and you carry/own a AR pistol with a 100 round drum ?

I carried this Olympic Arms OA93 .223 pistol on a number of occasions as a backup to my main carry handgun. I replaced the AR with the below pictured Kriss Vector .45 because it takes the same Glock .45 mags as my carry Glock 21.

I don't think that a S&W or any other AR with a standard buffer tube will fit in a standard size briefcase.

They're becoming more popular here in Missouri with deer hunters. They changed our muzzleloader season to an alternative weapons season. Centerfire pistols are now included along with primitive things like atlatls.

In a wooded area like most of my farm with a rest on a deer stand I would think a 40-50 yard shot would be a piece of cake.

For a legit carry option for personal protection...I just cannot fathom lugging something like that in any situation. Ever.

Or you could just walk somewhere else. If you're using the beta mag hope it doesn't jam on you.

Tongue firmly in cheek, kidding of course-well except for the beta mag.

An ar pistol sounds great for a vehicle and back country/camp gun. If I didn't want a few other items more one would be on my short list of next gun.

I often walk where "social miscreants" are possible (its called "The World. Anything is possible) but pretty much avoid locations where they are probable.

With that observation made, if you really want firepower in a pistol, get what I used to have 30 or so years ago...a Military Armament Corporation M10 chambered for 9mm. 1250 rounds per minute tends to take care of a LOT of social miscreants.

I finally decided it was too expensive to keep up and feed. I had what MAC termed the "asassins kit"...the gun, a suppressor, all housed in a briefcase that had a trigger in the handle. Each item was a $200/yr tax, for a total of $600/year BEFORE feeding it.

If anyone is interested, the guy who owned the company now has a fireworks stand and grain milling company between Ducktown and Copperhill Tennessee. He's a pretty interesting guy to talk to.

Saw this on the "Freedom Fighters" television program on the Pursuit Channel on Dish Network & also on the Outdoor Channel.

P556[emoji768] SWAT Pistol with SB15 Pistol Stabilizing Brace

The brace replaces the AR stock

I've seen these on guns guys have built to hunt with. The idea is in the woods it would make it easier to shoulder...since no one would be around to see you use it like a stock.

I still can't imagine a real world personal defense situation where having something like that strapped to your arm would be a good idea. Unless you're out looking to fight robocop or the terminator or something real world like that.

And now you've posted this on an international website that is seen by over 3,000 people every day and has over 140K members.

What you suggest is illegal in CA no matter when you got the magazine. Carrying a loaded pistol in your backpack is illegal unless it's listed on your CCW or it if it is locked in the backpack and you are headed to the range.

Wow that is a hefty bit of taxes. I thought the NFA taxes were all per transfer not per year. That is rather a bummer

BS. Someone wrote the ATF asking if it was legal to shoulder the Sig "brace", and the ATF said that yes, it was. VERY surprising. But it is apparantly totally legal for someone to buy an AR pistol, attach the Sig brace, and shoulder it just like an SBR. Don't believe me? Look it up yourself.

I think these firearms are silly.

If they make you happy, enjoy!

I can't imagine any use for them since I don't live in Afganistan.

Just my opinion, of course.

Where can I get leg braces? I need one strapped to each arm and each leg.

What with all the social miscreants and all.

The Kel Tec PLR16 rocks! Add their handguard, a red dot, and a one point sling to use as a stable substitute to a stock. Read/watch the reviews.
