Anyone know/measured twist rate on AR15-22?
For a backpack rifle... I sure would not want to lug around a 15-22. Check out the Henry Survival.

ouch, with all the feed problems these guns have wouldnt a sub-sonic round cause even more cycle problems?
I'd say you're right. Even S&W specifically excludes sub-sonic rounds on their list of approved ammo-and they should know something about rifles that don't work!
Wow that is pretty cool. Never new they made something like that.
The longer the bullet (and thus usually heavier) in a given caliber, the faster the twist rate needs to be to stabilize properly. 1 in 20" for any .22 LR is WAY to slow. If were to assume the sweet spot for a 40 grain lead bullet is 1 in 16", then generally a 60 grain bullet's sweet spot will be in a faster twist rate. I'm not sure what the length of a 60 grain Aguila SSS bullet is, or how much longer it is than say a 40 grain solid. The 60 grain may stabilize fine in a 1 in 16", but it's possible that it may be more consistent in a faster twist.i think the standard on twist stab. for a 60 gr. is greater than 1/20.. so the 1/16 should be fine... 60gr. bullets give more back pressure because of their mass not because they r "hotter" so they may run fine without a booster

1 in 16 to 1 in 12" is the standard twist rate range for .22 LR. For comparison the .22 short (27-29 grain) is in the range of 1 in 20 to 1 in 24"
We r saying the same thing... I've got a custom built 223 on a 1 and 7 twist it won't group 55 grains any closer than 1" at 100 but with 90s it will do that good at 300 with no worries.. I was just stating that some people have fire the 60 gr. 22lr through a 1in20 barrel with a suppresser and ended up buying a new can... they say to be safe use atleast a 1 in 16 to stablilize the that long bullet or it will key hole.. or turn sideways in a can.. depending on how u r using it... sorry if I worded it to sound as if I was disagreeing.. cause I wasn't. Just trying to for warn people
