Does anyone know if S&W offered the arched baclstrap for the 1076? I know they had the straight backstrap and the FBI palm swell grip, but I was curious about the arched grip. Thanks to all who respond

not that I am aware of but Hogue makes a sleeve that will fit it, the Milt Sparks rig is optional.

They never made/ sold them with an arched back strap. But if you want one "Big Dog" forum member makes custom S&W Delrin wrap around grips for the Chief Special series. He would probably make one custom.

Yes they did offer the curved backstrap. I have XX26, XX76 guns with all three different grips, those being the palm swells, straight and curved. The curved backstrap fits my hand the best and seems to move my hand into a better position to depress the de-cocker lever.

Hope this helps.

You mean like this? Not my 1076, but they were obviously made. Try posting a wanted ad here on the forum classifieds....

I did not know that the 1076 is a DAO.

Did they make the same sized pistol in a DA-SA version?

This was posted by a nice fellow here on the forum, sad I have forgotten who it was. I tried to search for his pictures...
1076 Grips

The S&W P/N's for the 1026 and 1076 are:

205000000 - Grip, Palm Swell DL(Delrin) - ("FBI")
203630000 - Grip, Curved DL(Delrin)

The widths installed on the gun are approx. using a vernier/dial indicator:

Palm Swell -("FBI") - 1.235" Wide
Curved - 1.075" Wide

Ky Imports was selling the curved grips on Gunbroker not too long ago - you might give them a call.

There I go referencing the SCSW. My 1076 has a straight Backstrap. With S&W I should know better than to say never.
