Are BB guns going to be the next target?

I'm a believer that all kids should have a BB gun at age 10-12. Properly taught and instructed in safety and supervised. A few years ago, I sent my son (who now had a 11 yr old) his old Red Ryder that I had lovingly kept clean and oiled. I left a note that it was up to him to teach his son safety and marksmanship. (He was a Distinguished Expert High School Rifle Team marksman). I understand his son enjoys shooting it. Unfortunately they live 2200 miles away and we don't get enough opportunities to visit.

No kid needs this dangerous high powered weapons!I would give them a double barrel cork gun and let them pop it.The string would keep the corks from traveling over 3 feet.
