Are K and N frame round butts the same size?

I pulled a set of Pachmayr grips off a 625 that bought recently, and they were stamped "K round", or something to that effect. This is my only N-frame.

Are round butt K and N frames actually the same dimension?

No, they are not the same size.

The N frame is a bit larger than the K frame.

Nope, but they are close... Here's a pair of K-frame round butt magnas on an N-frame roundbutt.

Wow, that is a pretty close fit!

I guess that explains why the K-frame rubber grips fit OK on the N-frame, they have a little "give" to them.
