Are Prices on Used S&Ws Dropping?

The P&R magnums are going nuts. The rimfires have been high for some time, long before the current craziness. No one, not even S&W, makes a heirloom quality rimfire revolver.

You can still get awesome deals on .38s and older non-magnums. I just took possession of a nice shooter-grade 1917 for less than 9 bills, and its competition was a Colt 1917 that sold for just over $600.

When this thread started in 2009 and prices today fun read

March 2009
'' I looked for some time for a used model 13 well I found one that was tight, timing in, though the finish about 90% due to not seeing many I went with it 300.00 +" Today you can't find a used one for $600

''a NIB PC327 with everything from the factory( even the warrenty and unopened the fired empty shell casing) for sell at my local gunshop for $899, I played with the gun and love it but i thought it was too much $.'' Try over $1200 now

Mean while in the bargain section I just won a cosmetically challenged 1902 I frame 32S&W long that should be a fifth change from in the 19eens for $200.
