Are the "Shield like" triggers coming on other M&P models now?

I'm interested in adding a M&P45c to the line up. I'm hesitating though because I remember some people saying the triggers on the .45 models are more gritty and spongy compared to the 9mm and .40 pistols.
Just wondering if it's true that all M&P models will be coming with the improved "Shield like" trigger. If so, when?
I know about the Apex kit but really don't want to spend the additional $ for a new pistol out of the box.

I own a 9mm Shield, but have never shot any other M&P auto. Is the Shield trigger better or worse than the other M&P models?

Although adequate, I found my Shield's trigger a bit heavier and with a slightly longer reset than my GLOCK triggers.

I dry fired 2 M&P45s within the past few weeks and both had a NICER trigger than the shield. No phantom reset, lightened up a bit, smooth, nice break and easily tactile reset. Albeit not as positive as the Glock reset, it is a dramatic improvement from the old M&P triggers.

One member on the forum has reported that an S&W rep said upgraded triggers were to come to the 45s first, then 40s and 9s, so I think you're in luck, cause the 45s are definitely available with the good trigger (although I'm sure there is plenty of old stock out there).

I'm interested in this as well. I'm making the switch from Glock to M&P and am a fan of the reset on the Glock but not much else. I went into my local store and dry fired a M&P 9 and the trigger was great, which confused me because the last time I checked one out it was bad which led me to go with the Glock. >.<b

I read elsewhere that if the production date was after 6/28, it will likiely have the new trigger. So make sure your gun is very recent production.

Polishing he sear, or replacing with an Apex sear ($39), either is very simple, all you need is a hammer, punch, block of wood and a vice and file if you polish. Makes all the difference.

Can you provide a link or other pointer to this source?

I just purchased a FS M&P .40 last Friday to replace a M&P .40C I purchases only two days prior (the compact was just too close in size to my .40 Shield). The .40C had no date on the included fired round so I called S&W and they said it was produced in June. The trigger was not too bad on it, a little gritty with very little reset (unlike my Glock) and a lot of travel. My new FS .40 M&P had a test fire date of June 19, 2012. I can tell you the trigger is much better. Very smooth, less travel before the trigger engages and it resets fully, just like my Glock. In comparing my FS M&P and my shield the triggers seem to operate identically.

Very good news indeed. Thank you. Of course, cant find an M&P45c anywhere. :(

Appreciate everyone's input here. I still love my Glocks but I'll tell you what....I've really become an M&P man too.
