Are You Happy With Your Shield

I am also miffed on any substantiate comlaints/issues other than the unavoidable nit pickers. I can't believe how good the gun fits my hand and how smooth of a shooter it is for the size. I have have Glocks and Xdm's and this is my favorite to shoot.

You guys have me convinced! I've been thinking about it and decided to get off my butt and at least hear the "Buzz". Sounds like another great S&W to me, Thanks.
Tony

I am getting ready to buy another pistol soon. I really thought that I wanted a Shield, but it seems like they have alot of small issues. So at this point I wondering how Shield owners feel about their purchase. BTW my next purchase is looking like a M&P40c

Would you state your "alot of small issues" I haven't heard of any

If there are any "issues" with the Shield, then what are the issues ? Lets get specific.

I have the 40 Shield, and have NO issues with it. I think it, (the Shield), is the best thing going right now for a C.C. weapon. These things are selling like Tacos in Tijuana ! That many Shield users can't be wrong.

I am extremely pleased with mine.

I sold my Shield 9.

No problems with it -- it was an excellent pistol. I too am amazed at how few criticisms there have been, and how it does not seem to have any of the problems that seem inherent in other small but powerful pistols.

I sold mine because it did not fit my CCW "system." I am sticking with my S&W Mdl 642, and added a Mdl 42, for carry, because they fit in a pants pocket so well; and a family of full-size M&Ps (9, .40, .45) for range, vehicle, and open carry or winter belt carry. The Shield was just a touch too big for pocket carry. And I sold it knowing that, if I change my mind and think I need one to fill a niche, I can always get one in the future!

yes very happy

looking to get a second one :D

400 rounds through my .40 Shield, no issues at all. Just started carrying it every day.

Very happy with my Shield 9mm. Have close to 500 rounds of various weight and types of ammo down range without a single issue, malf or gripe. Installed most of the Apex DCAEK in mine and it is even better. Haven't been able to get the rear sight off to install the USB yet BUT I will remedy that soon.

Over the years I carried everything from S&W 642, Kel Tec P3AT, Glock G23, Ruger LC9 to 1911s and still have each one of them BUT the Shield fits my needs as an all seasons EDC the best. Great balance between physical size, caliber and ammo capacity...

I guess "alot of issues" was not a good choice of words, while I have read the good reviews on this site, there have been for the lack of a better phrase the nit pickers with the shield. I guess I was trying the get the overall satisfaction with pistol. I think I have my answer,

Am I happy with my Shield 40...no I am not, I am elated and feel very lucky to own one of the first ones in my area, the only reason it is not a replacement for my M&P40C is that my Crossbreed holster has not yet arrived but it does sit in the console of my SUV everyday and everywhere!

the only reason it is not a replacement for my M&P40C is that my Crossbreed holster has not yet arrived

Have you tried your Shield in your 40c holster?? My Shield fits in my Crossbreed ST that I had made for my M&P9c. It also fits my DeSantis OWB leather holster for my 9c...but not in my BladeTech.

I carried a 1911 of some configuration for many years and when I retired, I started carrying my 336ti and later an M&P 340 all the time. I have been looking for a really good semi for CCW for a long time. When the Shield came along I read everything that I could find about it and purchased the 9mm. I love this little gun. I have put about 300 rds through it and it has been flawless. I never liked the thickness of the Glocks and they did not point well for me either. I really like the Shield. Good ergos, good trigger, points well and with a slim grip andaccurate. I also have good sized hands and can get all of my fingers on the grip frame.

I put 900 rounds of FMJ and JHP through mine with no malfunctions before I sold it. I got $8 less than what I paid for it. I was very happy with it, but I simply like my PM9 better. The Shield was between my PM9 and M&P 9C.

Sold the Shield on a Friday and picked up a Springfield XDs on Saturday.

I have two, both in 9mm, only because the .40 hasn't shown up around here yet. I carry one almost daily, my son in law carries the other. (I'm letting him use mine until he can afford his own...then I get it back, and have a spare!) I have no complaints whatsoever, easy to carry, great shooter. Only complaint? I need more of the 8-round mags...

My .40cal shoots like a dream. I am a lefty so my only issue is the non-ambi thumb safety. Not a big deal since I leave it "off"...as do many righties. I think they should have left the safety off all together.

I am so happy with mine I am set to pick up a 9mm Shield for my with this Thursday (if it comes in, that is). Honestly, most of the negative feedback I have seen seems to be related to a specific weapon not functioning well and not to any overall design or engineering feature.

Don't sweat it...just get one in your hands and shoot it. You will not be disappointed.

Mine (in 40 cal) was out yesterday for the first time and fired more than 150 rounds perfectly. I like it so much that when I can find a 9mm when the buying frenzy dies down, I will get that also.
This is the smoothest 40 for its size that I have shot. The recoil is totally manageable and it is very accurate.
It if makes it to 500 rounds without problems, I will start using it daily. So far, I could not be more pleased.

Extremely happy with my 9mm. IDPA multiple times, mags dumped on hard cement, accurate, compact and reliable. Over 2000 rounds through it with zero issues. Zero, nada, zip. Not a single hiccup.

I love mine, but it is a bit big and heavy for front pocket carry....not too big, just not nearly as comfy and fast as the LCP (though I trust the shield a lot more than any of my mouse guns).
