Are you still rocking a scoped revolver?

M586. 8-3/8" barrel with original S&W rings, and the rest of the M586 and M686 family.

I WANT THOSE RINGS/MOUNT! The proprietary rings are hard to find. I started a thread about a 629-1 that uses them. I guess I need to post a Want To Buy ad. Just don't ask for my first born son. He's 43 years old.

I didn't understand "rocking" either and didn't know "using" as it relates to firearms had a negative connotation.

With that out of the way, I've yet to try a scoped revolver as it ruins the looks and lines and turns the gun into an awkward and unwieldy handgun, defeating the handiness of the gun. I enjoy shooting handguns of all types, particularly revolvers, but seems a short rifle would be more practical than a scoped handgun.

I used to have several Contender frames, barrels, and scopes and enjoyed doing much load development and shooting, but never found a practical use for these. Like the scoped revolver, not too handy and I'd never hunt with one unless a rifle was unavailable.

We all have different likes and obviously there are many who prefer scoped revolvers. That's fine and may we all be glad we have so many choices.

I've used various scopes on revolvers , most of the time when accuracy testing. The Leupold 2X is a one I have used quite a bit. Once even used a 2X-7X Burris on a 686 for 50 yard testing.

For stand up shooting with no support my favorite is the Burris Gil Hebard 1X scopes . Made for bullseye , they have great eye relief and the dot reticle is easy to center on target.
