Arizona Sheriffs targeted by Mex drug gangs

Saw on the news this morning that "law enforcement intelligence sources" have informed a couple of the more high profile strategically located sheriffs in AZ that they have been "green lighted" by Mexican drug cartels, in other words, approved to be 'hit'.

How much more are we going to take ? Civilians and border enforcement officials are being shot and shot at by the various illegals pouring across the border and the federal government CHOOSES not to do anything about the problem, instead throwing up excuse after excuse and suing the state of Arizona for trying to the job the Fed has abdicated.

One man's opinion, but if one of these sheriffs is killed and it can reasonably be deduced that it was the result of this action, I am all for turning our military loose to go wherever it leads and take out those responsible and provide ancillary smackdown to anyone who wants to get in the way. The drug lords have bought and paid for Mexico's corrupt government and declared open war on any who oppose them in their own country. They need to be taught in no uncertain terms that extending that to this side of the border will have cataclysmic and permanent repercussions.

We don't lack the resources to solve these problems - we lack the will to do so.

Simple solution. Declare certain areas where traffic occurs free fire zones. Send up the gun ships with FLIR. Press button, problem goes away with extreme prejudice. That gets it clean. Then anti personnel mines and remotely triggered claymores are installed clearly marked in ENGLISH ONLY! Solves lots of problems. Raptors get to eat (need to be sure to use non toxic shot!) and only a few folks will be needed to replace the expended ordinance on a daily basis or as need basis. If the ACLU objects, let them go in and remove the ordinance! Again, more problems solved! Before I get flamed into next week, this is pure SATIRE! But, we have the tools and the will to control our borders without a trooper every 50 yards! Why don't we? Perfect training grounds for all our high tech weapons!

Come on down. It is real easy to find the renegades from south of the border. They are everywhere. One of the problems with the folks from south of the border is they have no fear of us. ARIZONA civilians cannot legally resist the invasion and federal Law is very under manned and overly PC with the invaders. They get caught, they get a meal and a bus ride to the border. 99.9% of the caught ones do no jail time.
Sheriff Joe sticks a few in jail and turns some over to the Feds. Feds to busy to respond half the time.
Invaders need to be given a lesson in fear. They need to fear for their lives every time they step across the border. Snipers or vigilanties or whatever need to run harrassment and interdiction missions against them. A fence would work, it is very expensive to make. A virtual fence was tried,it was a joke and did not work. A fence of rifles and bayonets would work, it would also cause fear. Not very PC on my part. There are lots of solution to the problem, most thought up by liberals and socialists. It will take men and action to stop this undeclared war with mexico. Those folks coming North have the full backing of their government. America is being used as a dumping ground for the poor, stupid and criminal from mexico.
The guy we have for potus is a grandma's boy. He was not raised around a father figure and does not know how to be a man. The person that runs Homeland Security is neither man nor woman. There is just a whole bunch of wimps in charge of this country.
ARIZONA and any other state that wants to remain American is having to do it on their own. ARIZONA is being sued for having a law that allows ARIZONA LEO's to assist in the detection and apprehension of foreign invaders. Me, I am hoping for my Governor to ask for a State Militia to be stood up. Somehow our National Guard is in the sandbox guarding a border for some other country. A State Militia would be a good thing. I know many a man that is hoping it happens before we are all to old to play.
One week of free fire zone on the Border and fear would be installed. After that it would take a small amount of H&I to keep the peace. A lot of people I know have been trained to defend America.

All it will take is a few third eyes springing forth to get the attention of the rest. We were sent to SEA to prevent the spread of communism through the fall of those nations. We need to prevent the fall of this nation! I'm PO'ed worked up and really don't give a good DAM- who I offend, Pis- Off or otherwise. Or could you tell?

Like your MOS, could be a lot of us held that as a secondary.
Don't like part of your tactics. Why you want to call in the gunships and give all the glory to the swinging air wing??
Men and rifles and suppress the area, remove enough of them that the rest are timid. Run some LRP's thru there with H&I mission and let the fear of the unknown keep them south. Send a sniper team out once a week. Don't publish the schedule. The badguys will get the message.
This can be done low risk, low manpower and no cost to US Gov.

While the data from Uniform Crime Report statistics collected by the FBI and raw numbers from the CPB show that the communities on our side are still comparatively safe and the increase in border enforcement is helping, there is no doubt that the Mexican cartels pose a real and serious threat. NFrameFred's post should not be taken lightly and I didn't intend to do so.

Nearly 23,000 of our southern neigbors have been killed in the cartel violence. Sure, some were bad guys from competing cartels, but many were cops and soldiers and innocent bystanders.

Contrary to published reports here, these cartel gunmen are not armed with sporting rifles from US gun shops: they have some serious firepower from the international black market of military arms or stolen from Mexican army.

The cartels have regularly targeted the few honest cops, soldiers and jouranlist in Mexico with ruthless abandon. If they do indeed turn their sights to US LEO's, then serious efforts must be taken to keep the cartels at bay.

This is the very reason that Gov. Richardson ordered the Guard to his part of the border - not because farm workers and maids with expired visas were causing problems, but to keep the violent cartels from slipping into NM. It's also why the President is sending an additional 1,200 troop to the border and requested an additional $500 million from Congress for border security. FBI, ATF, DEA and intelligent agents are also being shifted to the border because guns, drugs and terrorist are all border concerns as well.

I favor comprehensive immigration reform because if the broken beauracracy is fixed so that there can be ordered and controlled movement of goods and temporary workers, then our enforcement efforts can be streamiled toward the real and most serious threats to our national security instead of wasting time tracking down the farm worker who couldn't adjust status or the exchange student that couldn't renew her visa.

The cartels are highly dangerous and heavily armed with military grade weaponry (not bolt action rifles from Acme Gunshop in Tx. - contrary to reports from the Brady Bunch.) The cartels, traffickers, and smugglers should be our primary and immediate focus.

Hand Ejector might smack this ole GA boy side the head if I spell it out any more explicitly! Old DI assigned 2 of us that MOS who were draftees in addition to the 0311 and 0331 later on! So, you can see I was a grunt rather than a wing wiper!
So, zoomies can get it done but I agree battles are won at the point of the bayonet. But, there is something about the smell of napalm in the morning, especially when mixed with brown beans!

It's hard to tell why the previous administrations didn't do anything, but the present one wants all the voters they can get and is trying to make all the illegals legal voters.

There is a very good reason why the Border Patrol agents are in less danger than big city cops. The people they are chasing don't want to be found and the activity that they are engaging in doesn't put them in a spotlight.

If I wasn't disabled, and so stinking broke, I'd like nothing more than to go help the good people in Arizona out, especially the honest, decent law enforcement officers that do their best and put their lives on the line to protect their fellow citizens.

The federal government has made it obvious they are not going to do a thing but kiss the Mexicans butts, someone is making money, or getting their drugs for free, over this and it has to stop. I pray that all you good, decent Americans in the SW get through this safely and that all the worthless backstabbing un-Americans get what they deserve too.
