Arizona Sheriffs targeted by Mex drug gangs

Okay, I guess I just don't understand this. I get all of my news right from CNN, so I know for a fact that all of the so-called "illegal" immigrants only come here for honest, hard work. In fact, they come here to do the jobs that Americans aren't willing to do. However, there seem to be plenty of Americans willing to deal drugs... so, what's with these Mexican drug gangs coming in?
 
No, it's NOT hard to know why previous Administrations and Congresses did nothing in past years. Repeat after me: CHEAP LABOR and ETHNIC PANDERING.

As to "comprehensive immigration reform"--that's code for "Let's pretend to address the problem while kicking the can down the road." Just how do you think we got where we are today???

Mr. Obama has promised he is doing all he can. It is the Republicans in congress that are stopping him from addressing the problem, so he says. As he told the Senator from Arizona, If I seal the border, then you Republicans will not vote for comprehensive reform. Its all about politics. Cheap labor for the Republicans, and 10-12 million new voters for the Democrats. Probably the only way to solve the problem will be to start by cleaning house in Washington DC. before they get comprehensive reform passed and those 10+ million illegals suddenly become voters.
 
I'm sure Americans would do the work the illegals are doing, if the ones hiring them would pay minimum wage and quit hiring criminals to do it for chump change.

I walked into the bedroom the other night to turn the wifes TV off and caught a woman on Fox news saying, jokingly, "the Russian spies were only here to do the work that American spies wouldn't do...". I laughed so hard I woke her up.

These are pretty close to the reasons for the Bush immigration plan failing. The Liberals hated it because it did not offer immediate amnesty, and the Republicans paid for by business were told to nix it because it required employers to commit to the guest workers for a minimum time and pay them properly. The Bush plan was pretty equitable, it PO's both sides of the debate such that they formed a consensus to kill it, pronto.

This should read:

I'm sure Americans would do the work the illegals are doing, if the American criminals (employers) currently hiring the foreign criminals would pay minimum wage to US citizens and legal residents.

The employers who take on this folk cannot convince me that they act in ignorance. There are a slew of badly built homes here in the Las Vegas area to prove that they knew.

I agree either we should shoot on site, or use those new pain ray guns they have now. They could set them up all along the border and nobody would cross them!!!! That or put a round in a few heads and they will stop trying!!!!
 
Couldn't they just create a practice bombing range on the Southern border? That works for me and from the pictures I have seen, the area is pretty well trashed and devastated anyhow.

Obama sending 1,200 troops to the border is nothing more than security theater. They are to be unarmed and in a support role to the Border Patrol. They will not be in the field actively patrolling or doing any type of interdiction work. Their deployment is only scheduled for 3 to 4 months. It's a sham to make it appear that the current administration is responding to the situation on the border when in reality, it's nothing more than maintaining the status quo.

It's already there and named the Barry M. Goldwater Range. I've heard quite a few stories from A-10 pilots about rolling at low altitude to start a gun run only to have to abort it when they scared a group of illegals who popped up and started running.

Violence restricted to the border area? I don't think so!

Last year five illegals were tortured and their throats slit in a cartel ordered murder about fifty miles away in Birmingham, Alabama. That is far from the border area and literally in my backyard.


The Federal government obviously has no intention of doing anything about this growing problem. And don't think Obama is the only culprit because Bush did absolutely nothing. Not only is the bunch in Washington doing nothing, but they will not allow anybody else to do anything. Our politicians have sold us out guys and we are on our own!

While I surely agree - Does anyone know WHY this is? I mean really know why.
It truly makes no sense to me. Is there one group of folks that you could pay off that can influence EVERYONE ELSE - That just doesn't make sense.
Or is the US government afraid of the Mexican government???
I've read about aliens abducting folks in space ships - Maybe the US is afraid that they'll use their space ships against us. And IF Mexicans really do have space ships - Why in the world is picking apples such a big deal for them? Are apples THE fuel that space ships run on?
