The TV battle for Governor of New Jersey says hopeful Christie "opposed a ban on armor piercing rifles'.

Just what the heck is an 'armor piercing rifle'?!

Just exactly, with no equivocation whatsoever, whatever the reporter wants an "armor piercing rifle" to be.

You have to understand that the gun-banners don't want, and will not accept, specific definitions; they want the ability to ban anything that they find to "look like", "feel like", or "make me feel like" whatever definition they are trying to fulfill at that specific moment in time.

We have had Popes who wanted to ban crossbows, because such unholy equipment would surely destroy humanity if allowed to go unchecked.

We have had congress-critters who wanted to ban anything that could even RESEMBLE a firearm, just so they could feel better about themselves.

Where will it end? It won't end, period. We will have to stand up and defend our rights, as enumerated and guaranteed under our Constitution and Bill of Rights, just as long as there are uninformed people out there who refuse to accept the realities of living on a planet inhabited by human animals.

No doubt decreeing said unChristian weaponry should be thrown off the edge of the flat Earth - about which the rest of the universe revolved........

The scary thing is these mental rejects are elected to office with no common sense. It will end pretty soon, it can't run this way for ever...

You would think so...But we have had idiots like that here for the last 15 years.

Ken

FIFTEEN? Someone needs a history lesson. Or two.

Start with 1968, just for firearms alone.

Let him who is without stones cast the first guilt. Check Aussie44's address.

Then go back back even further - a LOT further. As a penal colony - and a British one at that - there is not and never was a right to bear arms in Australia. Born a subject and happy to remain such.

When yours is the only language that is allowed while discussing an issue, your 3/4 of the way to the finish line already. Think about it?
If your able to, always press the advantage of the public being emotional, uninformed and lazy when framing your argument. No politician ever went broke under estimating his constituents IQ levels! After all, what most people know about firearms they've learned from Hollywood anyway?

Actually, the rationale behind the crossbow ban was that a crossbow put a commoner on an equal footing with an armored knight (noble) -- his social better. The establishment couldn't allow that...

Not much has changed in the last 600 years.

I believe they also wanted to ban ANY rifle that could or could be made to accept a scope as a 'sniper rifle'.

As you wish.

Please note that was a general observation; NOT a personal attack.

We all know that gun owners "down under" have it far worse than Americans do.

At present.

Such legislation is suposedly targeted at rifles firing the .50 MG round but I'm sure they'd take whatever they else they could include.
