That's a fine looking rig.
Arvo Ojala pronounced as O-jaw-la. I didn't believe that until Lee straightened me out, something he has to do from time to time.
Here's a 4" K frame LE holster Mr. Ojala made.

Regards,

Here is one of my three Arvo rigs, with a Colt 2nd gen 7.5"

Arvo Ojala - Colt 2nd gen SAA 1.webpArvo Ojala stamp.webp

I have one for a 5.5" in brown and another that was a "walk and draw" though Andy Anderson actually started that style of forward rake.

Arvo sure was a cook dude - I was facinated by his twirling a Walker Colt! Then again Rod Redwing was no slouch!

Did you ever see the out-take where Dillon acted like he was hit in the opening gunfight and fell down? I
I haven't seen it but I've read about it - apparently James Arness (Aurness) was quite the cut up :D

I am constantly watching Gunsmoke over a little at a time - by the time I finish all 20 seaons I'm ready to start over. I also have all the Laman Series, and Have gun will travel on DVD - modern shows can't hold a candle to them! At least not for me but tastes vary I'm sure.

I've been trying to find McClain's Law - it only ran one season but I watched it on TV and haven't been able to find it for sale anywhere. I do have His series with Bruce Boxleitner.

I think that a quick web search will come up with the film clip. If you are a Gunsmoke fanatic, it has to be a must see. ;) I like the old ones with Chester and when Ms. Kitty was a fox!

"One stunt he pioneered was to drop a silver dollar at belt level before drawing and hitting the coin before it made it to the level of his knee. To make this shot, Arvo Ojala had to draw, fire, and hit within 1/6 of a second. "

Don't forget Maverick, Cheyenne, Bronco, Sugarfoot, Bomanza, the Virginian and many others. We affectionately call them "Oaters". Of course Lucas McCains character in "The Riflemen ". Here's a bit of useless trivia; Matt Dillon and Ben Cartwright rode the same horse A large Bay gelding.i guess that was frontier recycling!

Have you seen Bill Jordon "beat the drop"? He balanced a ping pong ball on the back of his hand and fired 6 rounds before it hit the floor - of course he cheated he dropped the ball from waist level, and the ball dropped into the empty holster after he drew - even though in slow motion you could tell he gave the ball a little lift, it isn't that far and he is pretty darn quick.

Another worthy feat apprears in Chic Gaylords book about holsters - he features an Air Force Master Seargent (I think?) draw, load and fire a 1911 starting in Cond. 3, from an issue flap holster before the coin or chip (don't recall which) hits the floor.

Cheers!
