As far as stocks go, Magpul CTR or ACS?

I have an ACS and I love it. I store batteries, allen keys, and extra earplugs in the compartments.

ACS is pretty heavy at .86lbs. The CTR weighs about half as much. I suppose the ACS storage is useful if you're way out in the woods with only the rifle. At the range I have no use to further weigh the rifle down with batteries, tools and misc things. That's what my range bag is for. Besides, the 15-22 receiver extension / stock tube / fake buffer tube.... has storage where an AR does not. ACS has a different profile for cheek weld. That's something that only the user can evaluate.

well said phil

I haven't tried an ACS but I do like the look of the cheek weld. I have a CTR & it's a nice piece. I just didn't like the cheek weld when using optics. I have a Vltor E-Mod stock on now & definitely prefer it over the CTR. The E-Mod cheek weld just works better for me when using optics.

Favorite Stock for M16 or AR15

I like the Magpul stocks, but my favorite is the HK416-E1. It is a Mil-Spec stock and will fit Colt M16s or any Mil-Spec tube AR..
Very comfortable and looks great.
The 2nd picture is the HKE1 stock with my modified DOE 9mm upper.

dsgarms.com especially if you want foliage or OD green. I got the MOE because it was cheaper, and in my communist state I have to pin the stock so a friction lock wasn't necesarry for me. I'm glad I got the MOE, the stock one even when it was pinned wobbled like crazy. The pinned MOE is as solid as a rock.

I say get the MOE over either one of them. The ACS has a better cheek weld by most people's standards, but you gain a bunch of extra weight. One of my favorite things about my 15-22 is is low weight. The CTR/MOE , IMHO, have great cheek weld and are very light. I have a CTR on my 15T and I tried it on my 15-22 and it was nice. I went with the MOE because it is nearly half the cost. It's nearly as tight also.

That HK416-E1 is badass, but at $200+ it had better be!

Also your rifle is awesome.

I like the ACS, and have it on my go-to AR (M&P), it has friction lock and it feels natural to me as far as cheekweld.

I will eventually get an ACS for my 15-22. Just got done putting optics on it, and the piggybank is inside out if you get my drift.

i bought this for my 6 yr old grandson. so we will have to make a few upgrades to fit us both.
first will be the butt, unless someone knows a trick to stop the rattle.
and i dont want to spend a fourtune either. does the MOE fit pretty tight ?

thanks,, will [post pics later in the right thread]
