Assad regime in Syria falls

The Who said it best.

"Meet the new boss, same as a the old boss".

Some things will change, who get oppressed and who doesn't, but it will be the same old playbook.

They just won't dress as Western as Assad did.

Ever wonder how many states and other groups have fought ISIS? Worth a
search or two, but I'm not asking Gemini!

They will be coming for their fighters, if they keep them where they are.

I just read a book....

...about a Doctors Without Borders participant who had seen some really terrible scenarios all around the world, and he described what was happening in Syria. They were dropping barrel bombs (drums with explosives and a detonator) on the populace. As much as he had seen already, this episode gave him a SERIOUS case of PTSD. It was so brutal. I'm glad that Al-Assad is gone, but like everybody else, I wonder who is going to take over and hope that it isn't some extremist group.

The good news is the new government will only guarantee 75 days for Russian bases. Putin's pukes and pukettes have been flying 4 to 5 transport sorties from Hmeimim Air Base and Russia daily, and there are four Russian transport ships under way from near Norway and the Baltic that could move lots of materials out just barely within 75 days.

Anti Assad groups were able to hide their differences and work together to remove Assad. Now that the big bad guy is gone, what typically happened in the past, was a Civil War as various groups fight each other for supremacy. "the revolution eats its own".

This has happened before, and will happen again.

Well, who ever comes out on top will have considerably less combat gear to use. US and Israeli strikes have seen to that.
