Assault weapons ban droped

The Dems realized the 6 seat majority they have in the Senate would be lost in 2014 if some of their senators would have voted for it, only to have is shot down in the House of Reps., why pick a fight you can't win anway? Supposedly Ms. Diane the head gun grabber, could only count on 40 votes..

I can't find the article right now, but it also looks like they don't have the votes for universal background checks either.

Then again, unless things change drastically in the House, it won't pass there even if it passes in the Senate.

Oh, in other news, applications for concealed carry licenses have increase substantially in Newtown, CT.

It's not over. The universal background checks are coming, and now that the current AWB is looking like a no go a lot of people will get complacent.

They're dropping the AWB but will pass step one of registration.

Meanwhile, here in Colorado, it looks like the governor will sign the bill tomorrow morning, which limits mags to 15 rounds (in addition to a number of other infringements). Who would have thought our state would jump onto the anti-2A bandwagon right after New York?

I am always amazed at the number of anti-capitalists I see on this forum. Buy low-sell high. It is The American Way. Sometimes you hit, sometimes you don't. Last week I used some .22 lr ammo I hoarded as partial trade for a gun. I probably had $50 in the ammo, and I got the equivalent of $150-$200 for it. I hate it that you can't stand to see me do that. By the way, I have often stated here and in other forums that price gouging is absolutely impossible in a free market economy.

I'm sorry you hate it :( .... want to hug it out?

Might be on the Federal level , but some states are still running amuck!
Indeed they are.

While CO is much closer to passing a bill written to infringe on peoples rights even more restrictive proposed laws are on the table in MN.

Seems the constitution is no longer in vogue.

It's certainly not over, they knew that it would never get through the house and they would lose senate seats over it so they dropped it for now......they will be back at the first tragedy/oppurtunity they get. Meanwhile the antis are very active on the state level, the situation in colorado shows that. There is plenty of time for them to try and slip bits and pieces through, tacked onto other bills probably. Do not let your guard down and keep reminding the politicos who they work for!

But now my state may pass there own assualt weapons or semi auto rifle ban with a magazine capacity ban too. I think my state of ct will pass it.

Time to move.......

I emailed Harry Reid and congratulated him on making the correct decision and then to finally Table the whole discussion completely.

Keep emailing your REPS, stay vigilant as they will try to Backdoor you at a Midnight session.

BTW; I'm getting every family member to join the NRA. There not the greatest but there a thorn in there side to the anti gunners.

Stay on top of this and don't give up and fall prey. We did here in CT and the ak47's got banned about 10 years or so. . I figure the AR15's and semi auto rifles are next.

She says. "I've been here for 20 years!" That's about 18 years too many. She says she's "reasonably well educated" but that doesn't make her "smart." She, like others, put their personal initiatives in front of reality, forgetting that she represents ALL the people, not just those who agree with her. The answer: TERM LIMITS! Too many forget that they are the Government of the People, By the People and For the People.

My parents built their house for $16,000, now they are selling it for $180,000, can you believe that.

Not to mention those that got GOLD for $300 an ounce, and are now selling it for $1600.

Neither of those increased in that much value in the space of a few weeks...in fact, the value of those items (your parents house and the price of gold) has taken years to increase to this point. That is not speculation or price-gouging.

As for Feinstein, I heard her whining on the news this afternoon about how she deserved a vote on her issue. If Reid is right, then he should let it go to a full vote and get shot down (pun intended) so maybe she'd understand that she isn't the authority on what Americans want that she thinks she is. Trouble is, she will never learn or concede that.
