I was just on one of the Facebook gun pages when I came across this post. It was translated from Spanish.
"(from) Norley Yusti
Hello friends, greetings from Colombia, hope you can help me with a doubt.
Is it possible that Smith and Wesson revolvers have been assembled or assembled in countries other than the USA, in Colombia for example?
I am specifically referring to some models that arrived in Colombia in the 70 s, exactly the 31-1 s model in 32 long and that some boxes came with the logo of the factory ' General José María Córdova de la Colombian military industry and what do they also say in the form ' assembled in Colombia next to the S & W logo?
Thank you very much"
Photos are from his post. Anyone have an answer?

I can say that Several SW Pistol types were made on Lathe machines and mills same as SW. I use to Fly A Lot in Central/South America in the 1980s and visited a Mid sized Shop Producing SW Parts in Bogota...like ahh 1981. I Carried a Mdl 10 not unlike yours in quality above that I bought there and Kept it in my Locker at the Airport for my fly in Weapon when RON. Of Course the Colt 45 were made on Colt Machines in Argentina and other South American Countries. So Im not sure if it was on License or not... but mine, like yours was a SW revolver in every aspect.

This may have been due to some foreign country's law about tariffs on non-domestically produced firearms (meaning parts from the USA and assembled in Colombia to avoid taxes), or perhaps the "factory" acted as the distributor.
