Hello folks, this is my first time posting so please feel free to correct me on any etiquette for this forum. I am new to revolver collecting and love these S&W classics.
I have here what I believe is a Model 629. It has the 6 inch barrel and is a .44 mag but beyond that I do not know much about it and don't have a lot of ways to find out more. It was a junk gun found in my grandfather's estate and it was not cared for the best and I am hoping to restore it to glory. It is missing the side piece that screws on to allow your thumb to release the cylinder. It is also missing the little red plastic bit in the front ramp sight as well as the entire rear sight assembly.
Any help would be appreciated and I will upload several pics to provide the most info.
