Is that their .44 Magnum? I've seen them, not handled one.

The company is out of business, so parts and service may be a problem.

I have a stainless Terminator. The gun is a hoss. Well made and shoots just fine. They sell for anywhere from $500 up to $700. I guess they have managed to build a bit of a following.

In regards to parts, they are terribly difficult to find should you need something.

Isn't Astra in Switzerland now? They were moved and back in business there. There suppose to offer a completely forged steel 1911 but it's not cheap.

First,
Welcome to the Forum

The TERMINATOR was offered in 3 chamberings that I am sure of.

The most popular was the 44 Magnum. Then there were some 45 Colt versions and the hard to find 41 Magnum.

Which one are you looking at?

They were available in blue steel or INOX finishes.

Depending on condition, completeness of package, finish and caliber these sell for anywhere from $400 - $800

Where'd you see this?! That should be fairly important gun news.

The metallurgy would probably be better, but cost of production in Switzerland would be much higher than in Spain.

At one time, FN sold Astra .357's under their brand name. I think they called that model the Barracuda.

I think the revolver in the movie "From Dusk till Dawn" carried by the character George Clooney played was a Smith 29-4 3" Unfluted.

I don't know who Clooney played, but the character in the movie photo above def. has an Astra.

It was a custom Magnaported Model 29, cut into a snub, that was in Dusk Til Dawn. An online gun auction is likely the best source for the Astra.

For practical use any of a number of "guide gun" type snub nose magnum revolvers made by S&W or Ruger would likely be a better choice. I have never desired to go below a 4" bbl with a .44 Magnum...and honestly...seven or eight or thereabouts is when it gets downright comfortable.

Look up the model 29-10 Bounty Hunter. Might make you forget all about an Astra.

Or even better IMHO, the 629 Mountain Backpacker
