At lunch today my wife asked for the combination to the gun safe!

My wife has full access. Every firearm I have she owns also. We don't share underwear. I don't think I can get into her boy shorts. The granny panties maybe. :)

We are as one!

I don't know off hand, it's wrote down some where, I'll see if I can find it. Last time the door was open. Oh, those numbers don't work, must be broken, see if I can fix it. Ya, ya, I'll get around to it. . . Ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies. . .

Guns are in the safe, combination is in the safety deposit box along with an inventory and value estimations. I'm pretty sure the wife would need help figuring out how to dial it in. (She's not mechanically oriented.:D)
She doesn't really know exactly how many of what guns I have, other than a 3 or 4 that she has done genealogical research on a previous owner. The only time she shows any concern is if I start bringing "new" ones in a little too often.;)
Married 47 years this year so I would guess that we have things pretty well worked out.:)

my wife asked me for the combination to the safe scared me, but i gave it to her. a couple days later i found the combo on the bathroom sink i was not happy. next time she asked for it she was leaving to go deer hunting with her brother and she had to get her gun out of the safe so i again gave it to her. when i got home there was my combo sitting on the stove this time. i again was not happy. i have no problem with her knowing the combo the problem is i have a 10 yo whose purpose in life is to eat the forbiddin fruit. he sneaks in behind me to see what the numbers are but my ninja skills are much better than his and i can feel him looking. he just can't understand why i won't just give it to him. not that he would mess with anything just wants to act grown too fast. problem is if he found the combo he could open it without a doudt. he got his moma's brains and his daddy's will power. my wife also likes to lend things to the inlaws. i dont know how many swings it takes with a 629-1 to beat in a 16 penny nail but when i get it back it will sure look like someone built a house with it. i love and trust my wife but would rather be on the side of caution and be mean then let that combo fall into the hands of my eldest and he get hurt or hurt someone. i dont think he would but i didn't think my dog would bite the hind end off the next door neibor's little dog either.

If she can operate it, then give it

If your lucky enough to have a wife who can operate the dial (assuming you have nothing to hide in there) then by all means give up the number. I am assuming you have armed her 'just in case' without need of access to the safe.

I'm lucky, momma couldn't get the safe open if she tried. She kills the log in to the bank website by getting it wrong too many times.

For what it's worth when I buy a new firearm I tell her - "but it's for you hoooney". She does not believe me but I get away with it......LOL!!
