ATF Inspection

I had a visit from the ATF here when we moved from NC last year. The guy was very polite and professional. I missed his original call and instead of calling the number he left me, I looked up the ATF office number, called and spoke to him that way. He was at the house for no more than 30 minutes and the only thing he said I needed to do was change my book to have columns. I had my book set up to where I put one gun on each page so I had room to write everything I needed. It's a 6"x4" military log book. I haven't changed it yet as it contains all the info on each transaction in a very easy to use format. I will get around to changing it while I am laid up for surgery recovery next month.

I was truthful when I renewed mine last year and noted that I had obtained 4 and sold 30. I then wrote a letter and attached it stating that this must look like I was in the business of selling firearms.

I noted that my interests had changed and that I had sold off a large military rifle collection and was now concentrating on a few other guns.

Never heard anything from them. Don't think I'd be particularly worried if I did, other than the usual concerns one might have in dealing with that agency.
