There I was. Minding my own business. Following my wife through the maze of Wal-Mart as she headed for housewares, groceries, etc. I stayed with her all the way through to the shampoo. Then... I bolted. Yes I did. I bolted. With the brief explanation, "I'll only walk through. I won't buy anything." I left her and the shopping cart and headed for the Sporting Goods Dept. Ah... happy! When I got there I saw they were sold out of Winchester .38 Special Value Paks. Then... on a shelf I saw one box. One I say. One box... marked (are you ready for this...) $23.95 for a 100 rd. Value Pak. Hows that sports fans!!! I know it's St. Patrick's day! But i was living up to my Scotsman's heritage. I found a nice lady to open the case. She scanned the box and it came up $33.97, hum... not so good. The Wal-Mart smiley face on the sign was starting to frown. But the nice lady said, "Let me check with the manager." The manger must have been having a good day because the clerk returned to tell me that the ammo would be $23.95 plus tax. Of course... I bought both boxes! :-) When I got back to the grocery section, my wife told me she'd bought me a "present." I didn't look to see what it was. We've just got home. The ammo is in my range bag anticipating a trip to the range on Tuesday afternoon. And... we've just finished setting up the new coffee maker. It's a Keurig. And I'm sitting here enjoying a nice hot strong cup of some sort of Italian coffee. Life is good. Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday. God bless you all. Sincerely. brucev.

I was given a Keurig not so long ago ... tell ya what, it makes one fine cup of joe ... just wish it was a larger cup is all.

Nice score on the ammo, and the coffeemaker as well.
Goes to show even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now
and then right?

Took a similar detour myself today. Almost bought another box of bulk .22 ammo (after all, can't have too much) when I realized the only gun I own that I have NO ammo for is a .22 mag. Solved the problem with a couple of boxes of maxi-mags. Now all my lead-spitting friends can be properly fed.

Good job, that is the way I felt last week when I bought a set of absoute mint factory Colt Python grips for $10.00.

I enjoy my Keurig and love to "dart" for the ammo section when we visit Walmart. Takes a while before you can find someone to help but their prices are too good to pass up.

I rarely go to Walmart anymore, since my daughter works there and gets a discount, I just have her pick up what I need. Only time I have to go is for handgun ammo, she's only 20 so can't pick it up for me yet!

That's where I buy most of my ammo. I bought a 100 rd box of .38 +p's for around $28 and a 555 rd box of .22lr for $15. Academy always seem to do better on rifle ammo. My last purchase was a box of .30-06 for $14.99.
