Availabilty of 686 3" and other possibilities?

Hi all.
Just wondering a couple things.
Lets say I backordered a 686+ 3" somewhere.
How long could I expect to wait for one?

With regard to warranty, would it be wise to buy a used one in like new condition?

Are there any other options for a 3" 6-7 shot revolver?

I've had a 647PC on order for over a year and the factory is telling me not to hold my breath. I ordered a 686P with a 3" barrel 4 months ago and my gun shop got one in 2 weeks. It might not be that hard for your shop to find one.

Dug myself right into a concrete wall.

No one seems willing to help/check whatever. My LGS was somewhat helpful, because they at least took the time to talk with me about it, which is more than the other 4 places I called/visited would do.

I dont generally do such things, and at this point I dont know why (realistically because I usually buy used guns), but Im gonna look into Smiths LE purchase program. Maybe they will be more helpful....but Im not going to hold my breath.

Any gun shows coming up in your area? I found my 686+ 3" at a show.

I bought a very nice performance center ported 681 3 inch off of gun broker a few months back. One of my favorite hand guns.

The 681 is a fixed sight 686. Keep looking, they are out there.
