It has been brought to my attention on more than one occasion that my avatar is ugly. Thats not the point of this post. I am wondering how to resize the ugly avatar to 60x60 in photobucket. i resize, enter 60 for each setting, and save a copy. But when i check the properties of the resized image, it is always different (60x98 or 36-??) any help would be great, so I stop pissing my fellow forum members off.

I checked it out when I saw the posted pet peeve earlier. Yours didn't appear to be any bigger than the majority on the forum.

Are you following me around this placed keith???

I am running Windows XP which has a built in picture editting function.

1 Go to the .jpg or other picture file and right click on it.
2 Choose "Microsoft Office Picture Manager" from the menu that appears.
3 In MS Office PicMan, click "Edit Picture" on the top tool bar.
4 Over on the right, choose "Resize".
5 Over on the right, choose "Percent of Width x Height".
6 Try 25%; if that is wrong, adjust up or down.
7. Click "File/Save As" and save it to MyAvatar.JPG or whatever.
8. Exit without any more saving, or your original picture is forever resized.

If you don't have this feature, PhotoBucket will let you resize pictures you upload to their site...

Looks pretty good to me I do not have an avatar and all the explaining in the world isn't able to help me post one. Oh well I guess I'm just avatar free in an avatar world!! Larry

keith, i was just thinking about that this morning, while i was...shaving my head.

Hows about you start ne out this time, I will follow your lead!

duely noted...when Lee took over, i think that was one of the threads he mentioned he was less than impressed with.

Everybody's right, it's supposed to be 60x60. As you can see, sometimes that comes out a little distorted...

Your avatar is fine. It's NFrameFred's that gives me the creeps!

can't even LOOK at that thing....

F150 , yours is 60(tall) X 98(wide) scaled to 60X36. It's great now the way it is, you got it down to 5kb in size as well, there is no detectable resize when your avatar loads.

The real problem occurs when someone uses a pic sized like 240 X 320 and 100kb+, that makes it flash full size on the screen before the forum software grabs it and resizes to 60X60 or so.

I'll type this for the benefit of others who may want to resize in Photobucket:

I believe what you do on PB is set it for 60 in whichever direction the original pic is bigger (tall in your case) then there should be a checkbox for "keep aspect ratio" , that will resize both directions accordingly so it doesn't look skewed/stretched like the copy of it someone posted on the first page here.
